Barts Trauma Team features in 'Trauma Doctors: Every Second Counts'

March 21, 2016

UK's Channel 5 series Trauma Doctors: Every Second Counts returns for a third series on Thursday 10th March at 9pm, featuring The Royal London Hospital Major Trauma Centre,  Barts Heart Centre, Barts Health NHS Trust and London Air Ambulance.

The six one-hour weekly episodes are providing an insight into the thought processes and decision making that takes place when our advanced trauma doctors and paramedics are treating critically injured or complex patients. Viewers will be 'inside the heads' of the team as they make critical, split second decisions. Many of the clinicians featured work with C4TS in research and teaching capacities.

Filming for the series took place with emergency care teams from the Barts Health NHS Trust and the London Ambulance Service in April and May 2015, during HEMS shifts by day and rapid response cars by night. Filming also took place with LAA's  Physician Response Unit, which includes a senior doctor and paramedic team that responds to medical emergencies including patients in cardiac arrest.

This is the third series of Trauma Doctors. The last series aired in 2014 and attracted audiences of over one million people per episode.
