C4TS studies how population health interventions and trauma systems affect the processes and outcomes of traumatic injury.

Care within trauma systems encompasses resuscitation, repair and rehabilitation after significant injury in order to reduce morbidity and mortality, and enhance the quality of longer term outcome. Evaluation of epidemiology, processes and outcomes is central to ongoing trauma system performance improvement.

Professor Karim Brohi is the Clinical Director for the Pan London Major Trauma System. C4TS in collaboration with other academic partners is utilising opportunities for large-scale system research including the impact of levels of care on outcomes for patients with traumatic brain injuries and the maturation of major haemorrhage protocols.  These studies aim to contribute to national and international healthcare policy and system development.
