I am a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at the Royal London Hospital.
As an intensive care and anaesthesia specialist, I have a particular interest in the care of trauma patients. I greatly enjoyr bringing to the Trauma MSc my experience and knowledge in the field of anaesthesia and trauma intensive care
I was awarded a PhD from University College London in 2012, where I was studying metabolic and mitochondrial dysfunction in critical illness.
I am currently co-investigator of two major studies:
- Recombinant human Alkaline Phosphatase Phase II study (STOP-AKI)- AM-Pharma.
- Randomised Evaluation of Surgery with Craniectomy for patients Undergoing Evacuation of Acute Subdural Haematoma (RESCUE-ASDH) - NIHR
Current projects being developed:
- Perioperative risk stratification using large national data sets
- Muscle loss and dysfunction in major trauma
- Coagulopathy and inflammation in traumatic brain injury
- Ventilator associated pneumonia in trauma population: A systematic review of prevalence and risk factors and a point prevalence study at level-1 trauma centres across the UK
