Congratulations to C4TS clinical research fellow Dr Simon Glasgow who won the EAST Foundation’s prestigious Raymond H. Alexander MD Resident Paper Competition at the #EAST2016 conference this month.
EAST stands for the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (Chicago) which promotes knowledge exchange that advances the care and rehabilitation of the injured patient. EAST has more than 1800 members who meet yearly at a four-day conference at which scientific papers are presented and advances in the field are discussed, and outstanding individuals working in the trauma field are recognised.
Dr Glasgow won the Alexander MD Resident Paper Competition award for his paper Push Over Pull: Managing the Surge in Demand for Blood Following Mass Casualty Events, based in part on his PhD research into discrete event simulation of blood use in trauma under surge conditions.
