Trauma nurses (sometimes also referred to as emergency or critical care nurses) are a vital part of the multi-disciplinary hospital trauma team.  Trauma nursing is a constantly challenging and evolving profession. Allied Health Practitioners who specialise in aspects of trauma (such as neuro physiotherapists) are also playing an increasingly important role in patient care.  These pages support the work of these professions in the UK.

The Pan-London Trauma Nursing Group represents London Major Trauma System nurses and AHPs from emergency care, critical care, theatres, wards and rehabilitation settings.

The National Major Trauma Nursing Group  has been set up to examine current trauma training for its suitability and sustainability for all relevant staff. With representation from 16 major trauma networks and the armed forces, the group will develop national standards for trauma nursing from the roadside to rehabilitation.
