I joined the Centre for Trauma Sciences in August 2013 as a Clinical Research Fellow. My background is that I am a General Surgical Registrar in the West of Scotland. I have taken time out of my surgical training programme to focus on full-time research with an aim of working towards a PhD.

My research interests are based upon my interest in the clinical management of acutely unwell and bleeding patients presenting to hospital with General Surgical emergencies following trauma. My research will focus on acute coagulopathy of trauma, with the aim of better understanding its mechanisms and how to improve the effectiveness of its treatment.
